I LOVE MY JOB!

MMO Alphas

You are an MMO Alpha tester. You could be a volunteer who got an alpha key or been hired for Q&A, either way, here you are. As part of the requirements to be able to play this game, you signed a very thorough NDA as well as an "Immersion Contract.” At all times while in the game, you will remain in character and not bring undue attention to yourself. You are here to find and bring to light, any bugs or glitches you find in the game world. If you successfully do this you will not only earn whatever wage you get, but you will also get a lifetime subscription to the game, retain your early progress, and keep any equipment loaned to you in order to test this game. With this being a brand-new system that revolutionizes VR, it is well worth the work!

  • MMO Alphas have more restrictions than In World Characters but are much more diverse than an Isekai’d character.

  • Choose this character is you want to be able to incorporate meta knowledge and “table talk” into the game.

  • Bonuses:

    • I’ve Got Chat Open - While you can communicate verbally in-game like any other character, you can also chat with other MMO Alphas at your table or in other sessions and use it in-game. This functions like telepathy in-game. You can “message” another MMO Alpha and they can respond to you. If the character is at your table it is instantaneous. If they are from another session you can “leave a message” and they will see it next time they are “online.”

    • Debugging Mode - You can spot and identify bugs and glitches within the game and enter “Debugging Mode.” While in this mode you can make real change to the fabric of the world for better or for worse. Opponents with the “Glitched” type can be identified with a DC 10 Perception (Wisdom) check while within line of sight of them. Once identified they are marked and you are always aware of their location and can see through any disguise they may wear.

    • Report Bug - When you take a long rest, you can Report a Bug. This allows you to take one creature you marked while in “Debugging Mode,” and temporarily weaken them. Until your next long rest, this creature loses its “Glitched” abilities and when brought to 0 hit points they are permanently deleted from the game world.

    • Not Of This World - Due to the fact that you are not of this world, you have disadvantage against any effect that tries to take you from this plane of existence.

  • Race Restrictions - Your character must be “humanoid” in shape, size, and features. You must have 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, no wings, between 4-7 ft (Medium sized*), etc.

    • The character can be considered large for checks as long as they are actually medium-sized

    • Class Restrictions - none
