Fire Isle

The Fire Isle is a hot and brutal landscape. The whole island is under the Ancient Red Dragon, Balagos’ rule. His underlings mercilessly beat down any who would stand against them. Below the surface there is an intricate maze of tunnels that connect one of the last Dwarven kingdoms and the Dark Bellows further below.

Dragon’s Tail

The tail of the dragon refers to the lesser of his 2 lairs. The primary lair is the Flaming Maw which is an active volcano and source of Primal Fire while Dragons Tail is a cave surrounded by lava flows. He travels between the two every few days but spends a majority of the time in the Flaming Maw.

Flaming Maw

Balagos’ main lair and the place where he keeps most of his treasures. This active volcano has not stopped erupting for more than a decade and while it doesn’t throw magma into the air its constantly trickles out gradually expanding the Isle. This location is also a source of Primal Fire and it seems to have altered the Ancient Red enough that he seems to have taken on qualities of a Fire Elemental.

North Tunnel & South Tunnel

The North and South Tunnels connect in a well traveled path but if you divert from the main path you will eventually find your way to Talen’art, the Ancestral Home of the Dwarves. While the kingdom has shrunk considerably since their peak.

Fire Port

Ruled by Balagos and his underling, Perenth. The law is militant and unforgiving but crime is still rampant throughout the Port. Fire Port is the only sanctioned port and all goods entering the city are heavily taxed.

Boiling Strait

The water that passes through here is near the boiling point and as such very few aquatic creatures can survive here. As a method of torture prisoners are dipped in the water until they confess or their punishment is up. This method is preferred over lashings.

Tergaron

The shifting city is a gathering of tents and yerts that follow the water across the vast stretch of sand. This region is not closely watch by Balagos as it doesn’t produce any goods worth fighting over. The people from this region live a difficult life always searching for food and water.

Dragon’s Rival

Home of the Dragoons, this is one of the most heavily defended and warded areas short of the Mage’s Guild. Even those of a Draconian Bloodline can barely stand to be there for more than a an hour or so without being given a ward key. This last bastion of defense against the great dragons, and specifically Balagos, houses some of the best smith’s in the world and all of them seek to craft Dragon Slaying weapons of legend.
